Visit to village Chorchana located near the ABL
On May 2, representatives of Women's Information Center visited conflict affected population of the village Chorchana of municipality of khashuri, which is located near the ABL. During the meeting, the needs of the local population, especially the needs and problems of women have been discussed. The list of problems included problem of water, infrastructure, road, transport, mobile connection and ambulatory. The meeting was held in the framework of the coalition project "Strengthening the capacities of the regional and local administrations in the processes of Localization of the National Action Plan (NAP) UN Security Council resolution 1325 and enhancing the dialogue and participation of women, including the most marginalized in those processes" About the project: NGO Coalition, with the cooperation of IDP Women's Association "Consent" , Women's Information Center and Cultural-Humanitarian Fund "Sokhumi" in November, 2018 launched the project: "Strengthening the capacities of the regional and local administrations in the processes of Localization of the National Action Plan (NAP) UN Security Council resolution 1325 and enhancing the dialogue and participation of women, including the most marginalized in those processes". The project is funded by the US Department of State and the UN Women and will be implemented with the participation and support of UN Women. As a result of the project, the real needs of women and girls affected by conflict will be involved in municipal plans, joint work on realization of these plans. The measures envisaged by the approved plans shall contribute to the strengthening of human security and rights of conflict affected/IDP women and young people. |
