Localization of the National Action Plan1325 in Georgia
On May 13-14, Tbilisi hosted a conference "Localization of 2018-2020 National Action Plan of Georgia for Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security". The participants of the conference were representatives of Sakrebulo , City halls , Gender Equality Councils and 1325 working groups, as well as IDPs and conflict affected population of 10 target municipalities of the project (Gori, Kaspi, Khashuri, Kareli, Dusheti, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Sachkhere, Stepantsminda and Tskhaltubo). Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia Grigol Giorgadze and Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mzia Giorgobiani participated in the conference. The first day of the conference was dedicated to the identified needs of the IDPs as a result of localization and the ways of solving them, the situation across the ABL in gender context and the role of central, regional and local authorities in the localization process. The conference was also attended by the representatives of Regional administrations of Ukraine’s structural units of Donetsk, Lugansk and Zaporozhye, who were participating in study visit to Georgia. The study visit aims at introducing and sharing experience of Georgia on implementation of action plans on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 Women Peace and Security. |
