Women’s Information Center, in cooperation with Gender Equality Council and World Vision, held a presentation of the report on gender evaluation research. Research covered the following fields: political participation and governance, gender and media, distribution of roles, healthcare, education, labour market, violence against women, human trafficking, etc. Document reflects actual situation in Georgia in terms of gender and emphasizes that domestic violence remains one of the main problems. Author of the research is Elene Rusetskaia.

Representatives of executive and legislative bodies were attending the review of the report. After the presentation, discussion was held, and the representatives of the Government initiated to organize trainings in cooperation with Women’s Information Center, where the politicians holding decision-making positions will take part.

According to the parties, such activities are necessary in order to ensure that each interested ministry have clear understanding of what gender and gender policy is and why observation of gender balance is necessary for the democratic development of the country.

Research is prepared by Elene Rusetskaia, the Director of Women’s Information Center, in the framework of World Vision project “Strong women - strong integration”. Project is being implemented with the financial support of Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
