Recommendations for the implementation of NATO gender policy

In June, consultations of civil society on the implementation of Euro-Atlantic Partnership policy, concerning policy on women, peace and security, was held in Brussels under the aegis of NATO. Gender experts from different countries arrived to Brussels. The event was organized by Mari Skare, the Gender Advisor of NATO. From Women’s Information Center, Mamuka Gachechiladze was participating.

The purpose of the working visit was development of recommendations regarding action plan for NATO gender policy. In the document adopted by gender experts in one-day working meeting, the main emphases are made on the issues such as regular meetings of NATO members and discussion of women, peace and security issues, as well as periodic consultancies with CSO, work towards the elimination of sexual and physical violence, gender audit, etc.

Recommendations document has already sent to the working group and it will be reviewed in the nearest future.

On July 26, 2019, representatives of the Women's Information Center organized a focus group in Kobuleti Municipality that included local leaders and women entrepreneurs who use / do not use the Women's Room Service.The purpose of the focus group was to evaluate the use of women's room services in the municipality for effective planning of further work.
