Gender Information Network of the South Caucasus – Ginsc.net

Gender Information Network of the South Caucasus is functioning since 2002. The only portal in the South Caucasus working on gender issues is trilingual (Georgian, Russian, and English). Gender related video spots, articles, news, etc. are posted on the website on everyday basis.

On the average, the portal has 12 thousands of users per month. All kind of information from the South Caucasus, including petitions, such as those on gender quota, increasing women’s political engagement, address to the women residents of conflict zone borderline villages, etc. is being published here.

Facebook page of the organization is functioning actively as well. For the moment, page has up to 3 thousands of users. Reach of the articles to the readers is quite high.

Portal has a section “Exclusive”, where spots and materials prepared by the organization itself are publishing. These are mainly topics concerning protection of rights of ethnic and religious minorities, problems of vulnerable women’s groups (single mothers, socially unprotected women, youth, IDPs, refugees, etc.), domestic violence, implementation of gender equality, women’s labour rights, protection of minority rights, women’s political engagement, advancing activities of NGOs working on women’s rights, policy of donor and international organizations, activities of Women’s Information Center, coverage of the events carried out in the framework of various projects, etc.

Video and text materials cover all levels: Government, civil sector, international organizations and beneficiaries.

9-10 exclusive materials are being published monthly on the portal. According to inner counter of the portal, as well as social network ratings, each material has up to 3000 views. The portal is supported by the Swedish organization “Kvinna till Kvinna”.

We take great pride in announcing that WIC from Georgia has been bestowed with the esteemed CAREC PROGRAM Gender Award—CAREC GENDER CHAMPIONS 2023. Certainly, it is noteworthy that women's organizations from various countries around the world were nominated for this prestigious award

On July 26, 2019, representatives of the Women's Information Center organized a focus group in Kobuleti Municipality that included local leaders and women entrepreneurs who use / do not use the Women's Room Service.The purpose of the focus group was to evaluate the use of women's room services in the municipality for effective planning of further work.
