In close cooperation with Tbilisi’s Sakrebulo, Mayor Office and Tbilisi’s Regional Gamgeoba representatives several goals has been achieved. Gender equality institutional mechanism was set up at Tbilisi Municipality - Gender Equality Council was formedby the decree of Sakrebulo. Responsible persons on gender equality issues were appointedamong Tbilisi’s ten regional Gamgeoba. The responsible person on gender equality issues are connected with gender equality advisor under the Tbilisi’s Mayor Office.In the framework of the project Tbilisi Municipality’s Gender Equality Strategy for 2017 -2020 years was elaborated and adopted by majority member’s of Sakrebulo.
A study visit in Germany - "Gender Equality Issues on Local Government Level" was organized by support of GIZ. The head of the delegation was Women’s Information Centre. The aim of the visit was to introduce gender mainstreaming process, tools and mechanisms that is used by local and national government in Germany to support gender equality policies development.
Gender equality institutional mechanism wereestablished; Municipal gender equality action plans were formed and adopted by Sakrebulos’ in three municipalities.
For raising awareness of the population in Pankisi Gorge (Kakheti Region), populated with ethnic and religious minorities and refugees, as well as on problems related to the violence against women and the best practices of addressing this issue WIC with the support from the European Union has implemented project “Mobilizing communities to prevent and respond to violence against women through educational, cultural and sport activities” in the Kakheti region of Georgia. As a result of conducted activities the population living in Pankisi Gorge has increased awareness on legal issues and the problems connected to the violence against women, as well as the institutional mechanisms that exist in the country to address this issue.
The project "History of Women's Movement" aimed at preparing documentary film about women's movement and feminism development in the 90s of the twentieth century. To demonstrate the work and input of the different generations women's rights defenders.
Project “This way it’s Easier” was fulfilled by the Women’s Information Center, by the support of Georgian Lottery Company. First stage was successfully finalized: Washing machines were distributed to 6 vulnerable families.
