Women’s Information Center responds to TV show “Bina 18” by GDS TV Company, aired on 9 of July, where woman’s body was used as a musical instrument.

Workshop was conducted by the project coordinator of Women’s Information Center, together with communications specialist and journalist of the organization.

On July 30, in the village Duisi, Pankisi Gorge, checkers and backgammon tournament for local women was conducted. The tournament was planned within the framework of the project “Mobilizing communities to prevent and respond to violence against women through educational, cultural and sport activities”.

In the village Tsikhisjvari, Borjomi municipality, Samtskhe-Javakheti region, Director of Women’s Information Center, Elene Rusetskaia talked to the members of self-help groups about the issues discussed on the session of CEDAW Committee in Geneva, as well as recommendations issued for Georgia by the Committee.

Women’s Information Center actively cooperates with Central Election Commission (CEC). Representatives of the organization took part in various meetings scheduled by CEC. Women’s Information Center was involved also in the process of elaboration of recommendations, including those on gender statistics and improvement of electoral lists.

With the view of lobbying women’s political empowerment and gender quota, Women’s Information Center actively cooperates with various political parties.

Special textbook – “Women’s participation in local self-government elections 2014” was drawn up, which contains detailed information on gender policy, women’s engagement at decision-making level, gender mainstreaming, etc.

With the view of better introducing capacities and potential of women candidates, WIC is preparing TV and radio programmes in cooperation with several media outlets.

On July 26, 2019, representatives of the Women's Information Center organized a focus group in Kobuleti Municipality that included local leaders and women entrepreneurs who use / do not use the Women's Room Service.The purpose of the focus group was to evaluate the use of women's room services in the municipality for effective planning of further work.
