“Gender and Society” is a cycle of programmes implemented by WIC in the framework of various projects. Programmes concerning elimination of violence against women, their political and economic empowerment, advocacy, peace or awareness raising are broadcasted through radios and televisions.
Gender Information Network of the South Caucasus is functioning since 2002. The only portal in the South Caucasus working on gender issues is trilingual (Georgian, Russian, and English). Gender related video spots, articles, news, etc. are posted on the website on everyday basis.
Within the framework of the project “Women for Equality, Peace and Development” supported by UN Women, several activities have been held in Shida Kartli. Among them were trainings aimed at study of the documentation of the meetings with one window shop principle case providers and monitoring of results. In addition to the project team, the representatives of Shida Kartli based NGOs were attending the trainings.
Women’s Information Center, with the support of the National Library of Georgia, organized an opening of the library in the village Kvemo Khalatsani of Pankisi Gorge. Event was conducted within the framework of the project “Gender sensitive information for gender equality in Georgia”.
Women’s Information Center addressed in writing to the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Akhmeta Municipality, concerning the fact and request of population. According to the Ministries, ambulance clinic is under construction in the village Saqobiano of Akhmeta Municipality, the place has been selected by the Gamgeoba of the Municipality and it will serve several villages.
Issue of personal documentation and citizenship is quite problematic in Pankisi Gorge, which appears to make difficulties for the children as well. Some of them faced problems regarding graduation exams.
Women’s Information Center, with the support of US Agency for International Development (USAID), and in cooperation with Taso Foundation, Association of Young Economists of Georgia, Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) and women’s organization based in Gali district, is implementing the project “Women as agents for change and empowerment”.

On July 26, 2019, representatives of the Women's Information Center organized a focus group in Kobuleti Municipality that included local leaders and women entrepreneurs who use / do not use the Women's Room Service.The purpose of the focus group was to evaluate the use of women's room services in the municipality for effective planning of further work.
