in June 2014, in the working meeting organized by WIC, Task Force made a special address to the Parliament, calling upon legislative body to support initiative for introducing gender quota, and thus to ratify the Istanbul Convention.

Women’s economic empowerment is a new direction of the organization. With the view of better collection of the information, concrete locations have been selected in target regions, where work is being carried out in order to mobilize community and select community worker.

On spring 2014, regarding women murdered in a domestic violence cases, Women’s Information Center addressed the Ministry of Internal Affairs and demanded timely and adequate response on domestic violence cases, in order to avoid fatal results.

Coalition “for Women’s Political Engagement” and “Friendship Bridge “Kartlosi” organized rally in the center of Gori aimed at support of 14 year old girl who was found unconscious.

 “Men talking to men” training, which intends to raise awareness of men against domestic violence, is being intensively conducted for the population of Pankisi Gorge.

Women’s Information Center conducts on-site trainings for the population of Akhmeta district on domestic violence, legislative and institutional mechanisms related to it, gender equality and stereotypes.

Women’s Information Center, within the framework of the project supported by EU, attempts to empower women and change gender stereotypes. In this view, table tennis competition between women and girls was conducted in the village Duisi of Pankisi Gorge.

During the consultation process, several large-scale problems were revealed, which have already been resolved as a result of advocacy by WIC.

We take great pride in announcing that WIC from Georgia has been bestowed with the esteemed CAREC PROGRAM Gender Award—CAREC GENDER CHAMPIONS 2023. Certainly, it is noteworthy that women's organizations from various countries around the world were nominated for this prestigious award

On July 26, 2019, representatives of the Women's Information Center organized a focus group in Kobuleti Municipality that included local leaders and women entrepreneurs who use / do not use the Women's Room Service.The purpose of the focus group was to evaluate the use of women's room services in the municipality for effective planning of further work.
