On 20 November, a working meeting of the Women and Youth Peace Ambassadors Network was held in Tbilisi in the framework of the project  “Women Act for Peace and Community Empowerment.”

The Women’s Information Center, together with its partner organizations,  the Charity Humanitarian activity Women Fund Sukhumi and the IDP Women’s Association “Consent”,  is continuing its community‑based work within the framework of this UN Women–supported initiative.

The Women and Youth Peace Ambassadors Network is dedicated to strengthening conflict‑affected and internally displaced women and youth in Georgia, particularly in the area of peace and security. The purpose of the meeting was to reinforce the network’s structure, clarify roles, and co-create its branding, ensuring that local initiatives are rooted in both local ownership and international solidarity.

During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to: Engage in a session by the Austrian Peace Centre (ACP) on negotiation and mediation in protracted conflicts; Explore international practices of women-led peace networks, including learning from the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP). Co‑design the Network Secretariat’s structure, roles, and responsibilities; Define initial branding elements and communication principles for the network.

All thematic areas were assessed by participants as practical, timely, and valuable. The knowledge and insights gained will significantly support their ongoing community peacework and mark an important step toward establishing a well‑functioning and resilient network.

We take great pride in announcing that WIC from Georgia has been bestowed with the esteemed CAREC PROGRAM Gender Award—CAREC GENDER CHAMPIONS 2023. Certainly, it is noteworthy that women's organizations from various countries around the world were nominated for this prestigious award
