On June 25 Women’s Information Center organized the work meeting. The aim of the meeting was to introduce the results of research ‘’Common Needs and Priorities of Communities Divided by Ceasefire Lines of Georgia
The needs assessment research of the society was carried out by the Women's Information Center with the help of the partner organizations through the questionnaires and focus groups in Samegrelo, Gagra and Gali.
The data received from the research about individual villages are systematized as separate blocks. Namely: Infrastructure, Education, Culture and sports activities, Income sources (Agriculture and other employment opportunities), Living conditions, Labor migration, Communication, Internet, use of different media and social media platforms in rural areas, Freedom of movement, crossing the ABL, Civil society organizations in rural areas.
The survey involved 300 respondents (70% women, 30% men), 120 from Gagra and Gali and 180 from Samegrelo.
The data was analyzed and common themes and challenges, that people living on both sides of the ABL have, were unveiled.
Both parties were actively involved in the process, including the online working group, in order to easily share information, comments or opinions by both sides.
Main findings, needs, priorities and recommendations revealed by the research were discussed at the work meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the relevant state agencies, diplomatic circles, public defender, international and non-governmental organizations and representatives of the local population from Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha and Gali.
The research was implemented within the framework of the project: " Supporting confidence building among societies divided by the ABL.

Project: Supporting confidence building among society divided by the ABL - was implemented by Women’s Information Center with the partner organizations (In Zugdidi, Gali and Gagra) and the support of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
The overall objective of the action is to develop a more dynamic peacebuilding approach to make this process more participatory by involving grassroots CSOs, IDPs and conflict-affected people.
The specific objective/outcome of the action is strengthened collaborative work and confidence building among society divided by the ABL.
