The project "Women and youth localizing the women, peace and security agenda" is implemented by non-governmental organizations Coalition - IGP Women's Association "Consent", Women's Foundation "Sukhumi" and "Women's Information Center", in partnership with the United Nations Women's Organization and with the financial support of the UK Government's Conflict Stability and Security Fund.

The goal of the project, in 17 municipalities of Georgia (Mtskheta, Dusheti, Kareli, Gori, Kaspi, Khashuri, Tetritskaro, Gardabani, Tskaltubo, Kutaisi, Khoni, Sachkheri, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha and Senaki, Mestia and Oni) to empower local women and transform them into leaders who will be able to: identify existing or potential problems; have appropriate response to needs; protect personal and community interests and advocate at the local government level and/or with other relevant agencies.

The measures envisaged by the project should contribute to increasing the security of women and youth affected by the conflict, realizing their rights and strengthening their capacities in the process of localization of the National Action Plan of Georgia for the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on women, peace and security.

Networks of internally displaced people and conflict-affected women and youth should be strengthened/supported to better engage them in peace and security issues in decision-making processes and demand greater accountability in the implementation of the National Action Plan at the local level.

We take great pride in announcing that WIC from Georgia has been bestowed with the esteemed CAREC PROGRAM Gender Award—CAREC GENDER CHAMPIONS 2023. Certainly, it is noteworthy that women's organizations from various countries around the world were nominated for this prestigious award
