Visit of the Moldovan delegation to Georgia
On July 8-10, 2019 Moldovan delegation consisting of journalists and the members of “Resonance” center visited Georgia. The visit was part of the “study visit for journalists” program, which is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The meetings in Georgia were organized by the non-governmental organization “Women’s Information Center”.
The aim of the visit was to improve the professional skills of journalists, promote international practice exchange and study of gender issues coverage in Georgia.
The visit to Georgia was planned to incentivize journalists, who cover the issues of domestic violence against women in Moldova.
The interest spheres of the delegation members consisted of the study on media work in Georgia in terms of coverage of domestic violence and gender equality issues and etc.
Moldovan delegation visited Tbilisi City Council, where they got acquainted with the work of the Gender Equality Committee. The delegation had a meeting with the representatives of the Human Rights Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
They have also met with the representatives of the Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics, acting journalists and visited the 1TV channel, where they were shown the principles of working of the channel.
Within the visit, they had meetings with the members of the Inter-agency Commission on Gender Equality, Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and the head of the State Fund for Protection and Assistance of (Statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking. |
