Organized by the Women's Information Center, an extended meeting - "Presentation of studies on women's political participation and gender stereotypes/sharing of best practices" was held.
The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Women's Empowerment and Meaningful Participation in Local Gender Politics".
The event aimed at the presentation of the studies conducted within the framework of the project - "Gender Stereotypes and harmful practices" and "Impact of the Mechanism of mandatory gender quotas on local self-government Policy"; In addition, the meeting aimed at promoting cooperation of target municipalities and women leaders.
The presentation of the studies was attended by decision-makers of the central and local government, members of the Gender Equality Council of the Parliament, representatives of local and international organizations, and the media. Also, among the participants were women leaders living in municipalities and winners of competitions of the Women's Information Center.
The goal of the project is to improve gender justice in Georgia, in the areas of women's leadership and political participation.
The project is implemented with the support of the Danish organization KVINFO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
